Beading at Blaxland Library
So many amazing pieces beaded jewellery were created today at Blaxland Library: anklets, necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings and key-rings. A few of the finished pieces are going to end up as presents for Mother's Day, which is coming up soon.
We used all sorts of materials apart from regular beads - such as beading wire, crimping beads, leather and elastic. If you've never used crimping beads before, have a look at this video tutorial to get started:

Let's Go Fly a Kite!
For the last class of the school holidays, we held a 'Let's Go Fly a Kite' workshop at Blaxland Library. First, the children were kite designers - creating four different designs and then choosing their favourite design for the final kite.
We used a kite kit each for the kites, which we assembled once the design was drawn on with fabric markers.
Below are the wonderful final kites - now all we need is a sunny, breezy day to test them out!
Great work everyone!!

Dotty Art
What we used:
Scissors
Sticker paper (office labels)
Rolls of circle stickers from the newsagent
Pencils
Circular objects for tracing around (bottle caps, empty tape rolls, toilet rolls, jar lids)
Coloured cardboard
This class is good especially for teaching about contrasting colours. Have a look at the wonderful results!
Thanks for looking!
