Paper Crackle Effect

The images below are just a few of the works made yesterday by Springwood Art Class. To make these abstract drawings, we each scrunched up a piece of paper into a ball and then opened it up again. Next, students traced the scrunch lines in black marker to create a shattered look reminiscent of stained glass, and then coloured in each section. Every work comes out completely differently, which is wonderful! It took about an hour for most children to complete an artwork on A5-sized paper.

Dinosaur Silhouettes

A chalk-pastel twist on this class, today we created soft pastel backgrounds and dinosaur silhouettes on black paper. We added details like volcanic craters, lava, smoke and fog to our landscapes.

And some gorgeous prehistoric landscapes on their own:

As well as an approaching meteorite!

Drawing Alpacas

Today we practised drawing, focussing on South American alpacas.

Did you know?

Alpaca fleece is smoother than silk, softer than cotton and water-resistant.

Alpacas come in 22 colours - such as white, fawn, red and grey.

Alpacas can hum!
